Does Hytale need fan websites? HytaleHub, HyForge, HyTrade

So what do you all think of the website environment that is already becoming very populated pre-release? Does Hytale need all these websites? My prediction is that server listing and mod distributing websites will die out, and only the most niche of things will remain, such as commissioning work for server networks or server hosting services. The fact that there are websites about a game that's still in development is crazy! Goes to show all the hype for the game! But, I do hope shady business won't be tolerated in hytale

I totally agree with what you are saying. I think that the classic gamemodes like Survivalgames etc will be popular at the begin but will be replaced with new gamemodes no one thinks of yet.

Websites like hytale hub arent doing it for the love of the game as shown by them taking over 50+ domains its all about being there to make the first profit people such as them arent needed in a community like this

I think the fact that there are websites that are for a game that doesn't even have a release date is amazing and shows the devotion of people. I'll be honest, I don't care for those sites, but it still does show those great qualities. Love your vids BTW. I think Hytale should have an official site for server lists and stuff

I totally think forums and server listing won't be needed. Only niche websites and server websites will most likely be the ones to succeed. Great video!

I'm sure the modders will come up with some brilliant gamemodes that everyone will love.
Either way, i'm not going to bother with these websites or forums. I'll just wait till its out, read any news the devs put out.

Kinda late for the party, but market forums will always be needed in a game like this, even if there was official mod list where people can publish and download mods and plugins. Not eveyone wants to givwe the best software for free and not everyone is happy with what everyone else got, like now in mc, custom made maps and plugins are wanted.

i actually ended up here from watching the trailer and hitting hytalehub in godaddy to see if the domain was available. the people behind these fan websites see that this game could very well be a huge hit. are they nessecary? maybe, maybe not. but they are taking the initiative to solidify their prescence early to make money. if hytale is successful, it seems like a game that will be rich with content to talk about. hytale is very different from minecraft. not from a gameplay perspective but from a development perspective. minecraft is minimal in essence and lets the players create everything and anything from within the confines of the rules of the game. hytale is not taking this approach in my opinion. if its including its own model editor you can bet they will have their own forums, game mode lists, server lists, blog etc. so maybe those aspects will not be necessary for fans to make. but hytale will not extensively breakdown their own patch notes etc. they will not be a news channel. and i think thats where there is a niche. where there is money to be made. people will make money. i commend these websites for going big with a naive sense of failure. because they have a very good chance of finding a crack to fill this early on. and guess what content is available and will be availible in the coming months. news.
