I'm a Texan, born and raised, and as long as I've lived in this great state of ours, I've never even come close to seeing it all. That's why I love TCR! Helps me to see places in my beloved Texas that I'd probably never see, otherwise.

Lived in Austin & spent lots of time driving the roads in this area. Bluebonnets & other TX wildflowers are beautifully spectacular in spring. & stopping at Enchanted Rock gives you time to pause for a picnic. & if you're like my hubby, he heads for a climb on Enchanted Rock if he's got all his climbing gear, ropes, & shoes with him.

Just completed a ride on The Twisted Sisters: Farm Roads 335, 336, and 337 southwest of Kerrville. Absolutely stunning views. The ride from Medina back up to Kerrville was just as amazing.

West Texas hands down. From the drive around Mt. Livermore near Ft. Davis up 118 and 166 back to 17. And also the epic scenic drive from Lajitas up to Presidio.

Hwy 16 from San Antonio to the little town of Medina then towards Vanderpool is one of the pretties stretches I've ever been on. Especially in the fall.

Im glad i made time in my short life to trace these roads. Texas has everything! Im a transplant but i learned to drive in Houston so traffic and reckless drivers are a normal day. Im grateful for everyone ive met in tx...even assholes. Grateful for everything ive seen.

I enjoyed this and have been enjoying learning more about areas in Texas! Need to plan my own road trip as I have only gone through the pan handle.

A few scenic routes that may be over looked are State HW 17 from Marfa to I-10. The stretch just north of Fort Davis looks like western Colorado in the winter, there's a great picnic site there. Also 207 south from Claude to Quitaque (TX 86) in the TX panhandle canyon country is quite pleasant.
