A few things to also mention:
If you are working with an input voltage greater than about 10V, it is worth replacing the 1N5819 with an SBR diode. An SBR conducts like an Schottky but doesn't leak much.
This chip can also be used to turn an unregulated positive supply into a regulated negative supply.
It is useful to parallel multiple capacitors to make the large capacitor values. This makes the impedance lower.
It is easy to find "dual inductors" that look a lot like a transformer but really are designed as inductors. You can use this to make low powered parasite supplies along with the main supply output. This can be useful to power a few op-amps in some 3.3V digital system

This is a cool little part, will definitely add some to my order padding list.

Would have been interesting to see a trace of the actual pwm output as well as the filtered output.

Beware of cheap fakes of this that don't like 40v inputs and can
be just as poppy with high outputs. (Same with cheap Arduino/esp boards many are good to 12v, but it you put one in a car and the charging of the battery gets it above 14v I have seen them (1117 5v regulartor) go short and pop the lot....

The best electronics project I made was a variable AC to DC power supply, in the 1980s.

How do these performer in high quality audio circuits like synthesisers? Is output noise a problem?

каким образом LM2575 касается этого устройства?

When the number is scratched off it means it was stolen off a product line and resold on their black market which is how the stuff is so cheap. Or it was malfunctioning and then stolen from discard pile to be resold.
