With a combined 100 years or service to camp, Uncle Oscar and Aunt Frances were the faces of the Takodah YMCA from 1921 until 1971. Together, they transformed Takodah from an encampment of a dozen boys into one of the most celebrated Y camps in New England. Join our Historian, Graeme, Noseworthy, as we dive into The Elwells and their continued impact on the camp we are today.

I still remember Gram from 6 years ago. I stopped coming to camp, but I'll never forget my memories

here is one of my stories. During siesta 2018 we had a bad morning so our cabin leader told us we had to sit in our beds till he said that we can get out, and I like pretty much pasted out, and don't remember a single thing from a minute before it happen, and when a woke up, I heard a bunch of people screaming, and yelling, I went outside, and got my shoes on and my cabin learder Mark Franklin walks over, asked me what I was doing at our cabin, and I said well you never woke me up, and the screaming was the people playing chum bucket. Later that night he apologized, and I will always remember that day.
