Elgato Stream Deck Multi Action saves you time | Extreme macro/automation action

We all want to save time and the Elgato Stream Deck XL really does do that well. In this video we look at how you can setup the Multi Action function to carry out those time consuming tasks. This function is built into the software of the Stream Deck and allows you to multitask all types of Microsoft Windows and Office apps at the click of a button. This may have been built for streamers who like pretty flashing buttons, but Elgato's Stream Deck is just as comfortable in the office as it is in a streaming setup. Note: the flashing buttons are really cool.

Thank you so much! It is criminal that everybody doesn't have one of these. I need like 50 of them for work, 10 years ago 😆

You can be much simpler by adding keyboard maestro into the equation. And have a loop going and specify the number of records. It will stop when you reach 985 as an example. No need or have different buttons for changes

This is Brilliant! If you wanna get even lazier, Corsair Keyboard software allows you to include mouse clicks and locations in your macros. If you tie it to an F-key, you can move an entire day’s work onto one button on your stream deck.

Very instructive. However, I wonder how multi-actions are better than using Keyboard Maestro from Stream Deck using the KMLink helper app. To me, Keyboard Maestro is a mature, well-developed, extremely capable tool that permits users to create a set of action steps that invoke apps and trigger their functionality. It also appears far less tedious than building multi-actions.

The trick, I think, is to build a working KBM macro chain. One macro after another. A whole sequence of actions can permit, for example, switching off all applications currently running, clearing the screen of open windows and opening a new set of applications and placing their windows as desired. So one can go from a live streaming set up, as we watched here, to a completely different set of tools, like programming, or building SQL queries, or flying a quad-copter. Each stream deck key can summon a user created macro that does what's describe here and more. There is no limit to the number of stream deck buttons in mk.2. Thus, no limit to macros to run, without multi-options. With better control of the code. Any one button can call any macro to do any set of steps. Change the lighting on the live stream host, then start any motorized device to do any task of any level of effort. KMLink. Thank you for your video

Can you figure out how to copy and paste a sound effect into a video editing software such as Final Cut Pro?

I`m using Adobe Premiere to edit video.
I`m wonder how I can make a Stream Deck button to automatic do a series of mouse-clicks.

Ex. I mark a video clip. Then I would press the button on the Stream Deck and the function of the button should automatic change the audio gain of the video clip to Max Peak +1db.
That is a series of mouse clicks. Right click on the video clip, press "Audio Gain", select "Max Peak", type "+1" in the text box and then press "OK" button.

Can you make a video where show how to make a button like that in Stream Deck ?
It would make the video editing faster.

Apparently they have not added a looping feature yet, which is kind of shocking... but an Elgato rep on Reddit says it's a priority feature they are working on. In the meantime, MS Power Tools has a utility for renaming, for people who do that a lot, or PowerShell can **really** do it!

There is a thing called Windows Power Toys to do that in 3 clicks…

Thank you. Great additional extra to the multitude of automations I am using my Elgato to controll everything from audio and video editing, web page editing, email shortcuts, shutting down programs, dual monitors etc etc. Is there a way to auto rename the folders you created?

Thanks for the info. Is there anyway to remove the green checkmark and instead add a different icon to indicate that the button is pressed?
