How to fix MK809 II weak WiFi wireless signal problem

MK809II is a Dual Core smart TVbox, it is a new model released on March 2013, A lot of users reported the WiFi signal is too weak and you have to place the Tvbox real close to the router to get a good interent speed. But I found out that you can simply reposition the wireless antenna inside and you will get a much stronger signal.

This had worked greatly on my MK809 III, at the beginning the signal was almost none... I have done your suggestion and it started to get the signal has is supposed to be and stopped to drop the connection.

This is done, because electromagnetic shielding in these devices sucks big time, so the ICs on the PCB interfere with the antenna.
Another suggestion is placing a electrostatic plastic between the antenna and the pcb, but be careful with the overheating.
If this fails, you can go the ugly way, and just move the antenna to the outside.
Or the expert way, just buy a higher gain (3-9 dbi), small external antenna, drill a hole in the box, and solder the ground and antenna signals to the pcb connectors. The thing is, for ppl without electronics know how, this is very tricky. The wires can't touch each other, or else the antenna will be useless. If done properly, you can get the full 802.11 wireless benefits, just like any other wireless connection.

Could you explain what you have done here, looks like you took it off and just put it back the exact same way?

Seems that the wifi issue is am overheating problem. Moving it away from processor may thus help.

How much speed was it getting when you applied the fix?

the point is to move the antenna away from the processor.

Looks like he moved the position of the aerial from a central position to the end of the device.

I just got mine today and installed an app to monitor the speed of the wifi. I noticed that it starts really high (6-8 Mbps... I only have 7 Mbps internet), and then it drops down to practically nothing in speed, the video buffers, then it jumps back up again, and then drops again. The signal itself always seems to be fine. It's the speed. Do you think this would fix it?

Actually it was rotated 180 the shifted 2inches towards the hdmi head
