Waves: Harmony | Full Demo and Review

Waves, the long-standing juggernaut of the audio plugin world, have just released their Waves Harmony – a glorified and expanded version of the demon’s voice box itself, the snare drum sound from Back In Black, and also a genuine vocal tool for creating, well, harmonies.

Easily the best way a harmonizer has ever been used is over every ghastly word of any demon, ghoul, or the voice of Satan himself in ‘most every early 80s film. Or for the spoken intro for Venom’s Welcome To Hell demo. But I suppose people put harmonizers to use in ‘legitimate’ musical ways too.

The Waves Harmony is a massively expanded version of what the original Eventide unit did so well in its prime, but with a huge array of modern accoutrements to fit splendidly into the workflow of any DAW session.

Hi I really enjoyed your presentation of this plug-in. I also like your comments on what you think of this plug-in. How ever I have on e big question. After you recorded all of your tracks with all of your instruments and when you sing your lead vocals, can you go back and listen to your entire track, can you create all of your harmonies via midi like the guy singing in this video did? Could all of the harmonies be sang following the lead recorded vocal line and will those harmonies follow the single vocal line? Please get back to me on answering this question. I was hoping that you would demonstrate that in this video if it could be done with out actually opening up another track and singing and playing the harmonies again on another track. I am hoping that there is a way because the lead singer might not be available to sing the harmonies if the engineer is alone mixing by his or herself and the musician might not be available as well. I have watched and saved 20 different videos of various singers and producers and none of them Have done what I have just asked you, could it be done. Anyway I would like to thank you for this demonstration again and I wish you continued success with all of your future music videos and all of your musical endeavors.
