LG WT7300CW - How To Run TEST Cycle & Smart Diagnosis
This is a demonstration of the LG WT7300CW Test Cycle and Smart Diagnosis™️. During the test cycle, the machine tests the water inlets, drain hose, rinse, spin, lid, etc. I ran this test following a leak that occurred due to my error.... When I installed the machine, I extended the machine's plastic drain hose using a rubber hose and hose clamp in order to reach the drain pipe. Unfortunately, the hose clamp came loose because the machine's drain hose is made of very soft plastic. My bad! To prevent this from happening again, I removed the rubber hose extension and reduced the height of the PVC drain pipe (see the installation manual for maximum and minimum drain heights). Problem solved! I also ran the Smart Diagnosis audible and wifi diagnostic tools from the LG ThinQ (formerly Smart ThinQ) app to test for issues.

Thank you. I spent 40 minutes trying to figure this out before finally turning to you tube. After watching less than a minute of your video my washer was working. Thanks again.

Excellent instructions! We were on the phone with customer service and they couldn’t figure it out….after watching your video for less than 15 seconds we got the test cycle to run as expected! 👍

Thank you! I never would’ve figured out to press SPIN/SOIL so fast after power button. You’re a life saver!

Thank you! 😊 - You have no idea how many times I tried to get this test run started. LG needs to re-edit their test instructions.

OMG! Thank you so much for this video. Tried the test machine AT LEAST two dozen times plus in trying to get it initiated. Turns out there is about a nanosecond window between pressing the spin + soil buttons too quickly or too slowly. And it has to be just right. The manual says "immediately." This word needs a footnote to reference your video, because the frustration level was through the roof before I found your video. LG should clarify this because I would wager this issue to be one of the most irritating and calls to the factory/Lowe's/plumber for this model.

Thanks. This worked like a charm. (As a technical writer, it's kind of sad to see that whoever prepared LG's manual didn't include that critical piece of information.)

Thank you. I thought I was crazy. They didn't explain on the manual that you have to INSTANTLY hit the buttons

I couldn’t figure my washer out until I watched your video and discovered you need to do it that quickly after pressing the power button. Thank you!

I couldn't get it to work either, until this video. This is why I love YouTube. Thanks for posting this!

Thank you! Pressing the spin+soil immediately after pressing power, but before the actual knob lights settle, is crucial. I spent the last 20 minutes pressing the power, letting it boot up, then trying to test. Nope! It’s just like a computer test, you have to do it in the boot up mode. Thank you, I was on the verge on tears thinking I cannot follow simple directions from a manual.

the instructions manual mentioned holding the two button not selecting them quickly after powering on. after watching your video I finally figured out that secret and was able to test the machine. thanks so much!

We just bought this washer and I really like it. Our old washer overfilled with water. Worse than what yours did.
Tip if this ever happens to anyone. Get your WET/DRY shop vac out. empty any trash inside. REMOVE the paper filter so the
water can be vacuumed up. use the flat floor attachment to the end of the vac hose and vac water. Then get a fan ( DO NOT PUT IN WATER ON FLOOR) run fan over the wet floor. Magic!
Great video. Thanks

Thank you!!! Like others, I couldn't get this to start since I wasn't pressing the buttons quick enough. LG really needs to indicate this in the manual.

I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t go to the testing, until looking up this video on YouTube. Thank you!
