Love the thumbnail! Upgrade by Blake Crouch was really the only properly disappointing book I read this year. I wished I liked Mistborn Secret History and Edgedancer more too.

I've concluded that Robert Jackson Bennett isn't the author for me because of the way he writes characters (love Clef though) but I was still a little sad that I never finished out the Founders trilogy. So I'm kind of happy to hear that the ending wasn't the best thing ever. Also I didn't realize your job is in the travel industry, how fun!

Completely agree with the Alix E Harrow novellas. They should be standalones!

100% agree with your thoughts on the golden enclaves. It just... Was SO off. And the jetting all over the place got old quick. And I hated basiyevery character interaction that happened. So disappointing

Eeeeek I have been putting off Locklands because I feel like I need to do a reread of book 1 and 2, but this is not helping with my motivation. We tend to have very similar thoughts on books, so things are not looking great lol.
Anyway, totally feel you on HoSaB and A Mirror Mended. Here's to hoping 2023 will be a better year for sequels/finales for you!!

It's so disappointing when the last book in a series doesn't live up to expectations 😩
I'm really intrigued about the next Crescent City book (although I should probably get round to finishing TOG before it comes out because I've still only read the first book 😅)

I didn't hate WhenNight Breaks, but I loved the first one so much and this sequel did just let me down... It could have done SO much more!
A mirror mended I also didn't love, the first one was good but this one was just meh and i feel like it changed the character growth from the 1st one!
