great as always!
Also I just wanted to leave some positive feedback on the mars guy/hammer/rover you edit into the pictures, they really help with getting a sense of scale.

You should have shown a picture of Mars from JWST, and added the immortal phrase "Here's Marsguy for scale".

Exploration often creates more questions than answers. Good stuff, Mars Guy, thanks!

Yea the more they find the more they need to get samples back. Always true, the search for answers always brings more questions. Thanks for sharing. Charles

@Mars Guy Another fascinating report! Couldn't they get some info on what this purple coating is made of using either the rover's SHERLOC (UV) or PIXL (X-ray) spectrometer instruments?

Another great video ! Thanks for explaining what we see and help the general public to understand what’s going on. And of course the size references (stadium, rover, mars guy and the hammer) the really give a great scale to everything we see !!

Great short and concise video, as always in this channel 🙂 And the ending with "the new rock target" ...could not be better!

Feels like these are the most fantastic and frustrating findings for the Perseverance team.. Just one sample --- one little sample !! 😉☺️😀

I find things that look very similar here in southern Colorado. I think the layer is more like jasper than like desert varnish, which is a thin layer that built up over many years and is removed to draw the petroglyphs. Whereas the jasper like layers are metamorphic in origin. Also, just like these, I have rocks that transition smoothly from the jasper like layer to more sandstone type; very much like the rocks in the video. In short, the layer is just to thick and integrated into the rest of the pieces to be formed the same way as desert varnish.

thanks for doing this. scale is so important to context during understanding.

As the Martian atmosphere faded away and the water with it, there must have been a cut-off point where rain was still able to fall.
How different would it have sounded compared to what we know?

0:40 I'm pretty sure this football stadium is proof of life on mars.

Thanks as always 😅! But don‘t think I didn‘t pick it up … „move the world“ 😳? At least it can move Mars, it might take some more exercising until it can move the world 🤣!

If the goal is to core sample a rock, then the rock size should be about 50% deeper than the sample to prevent cracking. However, you can't deny the value in the data collected in this attempt.

Once more I wish NASA would let you speak for them. AND write for them. Their spokespeople are SO condesending. Thank you Mars Guy, for speaking to me like an adult layperson rather than a kindergardener.
