I work at an electronics store. We had the new Samsung QD OLED TV out as a demo and we noticed after a couple months of daily usage that the brightness dropped significantly. I knew that OLED TV’s get less and less bright after using them for some time but I didn’t expect it to be so fast. So please do a test on it to see after how many ‘watch-hours’ the brightness goes down to 80% of its original peak and after how many hours 70% etc

I appreciate Samsung giving appreciation to the people that made these technologies possible. We celebrate the wrong people in most instances and I feel it is important to shed light on those who really do the work.

12:41 is the highlight of the video for me. People who work in collaboration to bring us to the next level in tech should get their name in the spotlight. Respect to Samsung and LMG for bring these gentlemen to the spotlight on their hard work.

Pro tip for ultrawide enthusiasts, watching 16:9 content kinda gives a reverse burn-in effect where the screen will evenly wear out in the center 16:9 area but NOT the sides with the black content-less pillarboxes which is really noticable on lower brightness levels...

I honestly think that for displays, not for every video, but for displays in particular you should put out an HDR video. So many screens are boasting HDR as a feature and most content consumption screens are HDR enabled, that it makes sense that you should put out an HDR video for monitor and TV reviews as it really helps with understanding what the panel is bringing to the table.

The thing I hate about monitor reviews is that the side by side comparisons never mean anything to me since they all look the same on my basic monitor.

Poor Plouffe, after so many times of saying AW3423DW, he'll have to learn a new monitor name to spout every 30 seconds :<

Once these monitors come down in price to the 400-600$ range then I'm definitely going to consider them

Been playing with an s95b for a year now, it's cool that the display tech is moving along this quick, maybe in a year or two's time i'll have a 240hz qd oled tv or even something with no burnin. I have pretty severe burn in around ui elements that didn't go away with short or long compensation cycles, so that sucks

How long these displays will last is a huge contender for me as I won't be buying them every year or two.

Too often those who actually make technologies possible are shadowed by brands or CEOs' names, it was extremely pleasing seeing you guys giving credit to those scientists 👏 👏

My LG OLED panel was broken while moving in 2022 and it happened to be within a couple of weeks of the s95b releasing, so I picked one up then. Been thrilled with it since. The software is hit or miss, but the display is still GORGEOUS. Very excited to see where displays go from here.

Having a shout out to the brains who helped research this technology is really cool to see and makes me want to be a scientist even more. Often our work is undervalued and overlooked while here it can be celebrated along with the joys in life it brings like new panel technology and the experiences that even that comes with. Thank you.

Honestly, I was a little on the fence, but knowing they're pushing you to recognize the scientists that made this work possible, makes me more inclined to make the purchase. We too often forget these people.

My biggest issue is the sub pixel layout. Nice to see that they've improved text clarity. I would be curious to see how better clear type works with the 1440p panel, as I'm interested in a 1440p UW.

I’m super pumped for the laps content on monitors. Especially on the higher end regarding reference monitors and how the newer OLEDs will stack up to them.
