I'm from Goa, India and Goa was earlier under the Portuguese rule. So this dish is definitely a part of our culture. It's a lovely, creamy dish.😍😍

My parents are from Puerto Rico and they used to eat bacalao salad made with boiled eggs and root vegetables. The link to Portugal came from the time some Caribbean islands were colonized by Spain. I read that there were Portuguese sailors that sailed with the Spanish. They all left their imprint across the Caribbean.

Kinda funny how I came across this.
I'm from Braga, Portugal. I never liked cod when I was a kid, but always liked my mum's Bacalhau.
I haven't eaten it in a long time, and this video definitely added Bacalhau à Brás to my craving list. :)

We do eat it with quite a bit of potatoes and a drizzle of olive oil on top of everything though 🙂

The pronounciation is [bah-cah-lah-oh]. And yes, there are many recipes. In Mexico we make it with tomato sauce, lots of olive oil, potatoes, capers, olives, and chilies. Its party/christmas food for us cause its super expensive and labor intensive (the cod is salted and dehydrared. Need to soak it for a few days and manually remove the bones). But its awesome u make this attempt to make every countries' national dish

Hold on...im portuguese and cozido ah portuguesa is our national dish. Bacalhao is definitely an item we use alot. But this is definitely not our national dish
