If you are good enough, you are old enough....

11 Points, 10 more to go and we should be set for Qatar 2022... Halfway there!
Now I need to rest for a few

I learned Sebastian Lletget and Paul Arriola should not be starters for the USMNT!

I learned that the gap between (most of) the MLS players and {most of} the European players is far greater than I thought. I watched a Premier League match before the break and marveled at the way they made quick sharp passes in close quarters, and lamented that we could not do that...then I saw us do it Wednesday. God, that was fun to watch!

The other thing I learned from the Costa Rica game is Gyasi Zardes's role with the team. He is a late sub when we have a lead and need to put pressure/kill the clock. He did a great job of this in this game. He's not a starter. He's not a guy you bring on to score a goal if you are tied or losing. He's a guy that will hustle after the ball for 15 minutes or so if needed and make it difficult for the other team to build something out of the back.

My lesson is I would rather have a shot stopper in the goal than an out of form disributor there, also I love watching Musah advance the ball in the midfield.

After this camp, I learned that Musah is a freaking beast! He really needs to clean up his ball control because he loses it in promising positions. Other than that, I see he has great awareness and is creative enough to create space for himself while going forward. The midfield should be Adams, Musah, McKennie and have Busio, LDLT and Green as immediate depth for now.

Unfortunately, Gregg always calls up his guys and we'll usually find Lletget and Acosta somewhere in the midfield. Hopefully he learns and stops with the bias.

Great video as always Filippo! I agree with you and I hate hearing mainstream commentators blame “experience” why we can’t play our best players. CONCACAF isn’t the only place to get experience. Many of these players get a lot of experience in Europe where there are plenty of stadiums just as hostile, or more, than CONCACAF. Certainly the pressure on these players is greater in Europe where everyone in the country follows football vs the US where Arriola could walk into a sports bar and he’d be lucky to be noticed so I don’t agree that MLS or CONCACAF experience is greater than Euro club experience. Play the youth so they get time to gel before the real hard games come at the WC!

I like what you did there in “hiding the name” 😂😂😂

What’s beautiful about this national team is that we accept people with origins all over the world. For other teams it would be offensive to have talent from abroad.

I have re-learned that 1) Gregg and staff are incompetent, 2) Lletget, Arriola, Roldan, and Zardes are not USMNT roster material, and 3) McKinnie comes off the bench when Pulisic and Reyna return.

I don’t ever want to see a player pick up an injury, but my first thought after hearing that Arriola got hurt during warmups and Weah was starting, was relief and excitement. I hope Arriola is ok but I’m glad that he didn’t play. Weah is a much better option.

For me, Busio was a revelation. I had heard about him being a talent, and knew about him moving to the Italian league, but I hadn't thought much of him. My only experience with him was during the Gold Cup and to be honest, he wasn't very impressive. But despite playing a limited amount of time against CR, I thought he was one of the better US players. All night the crosses from the rest of the team was sub-par, with a few exceptions. When Busio came on the field that immediately changed. His game is very subtle but i left the night feeling like we have to find a way to get him into the starting lineup. But who do we take out from this 10:. Pulisic, Pepi, Reyna, Aaronson, McKennie, Musah, Adams, and four defenders? I thought about only using 3 defenders, but that might reduce Dest's attacking opportunities. It's a good problem to have.,

I caught myself just smiling while watching this team play!! They played such beautiful soccer at times
Was also happy to see busio get minutes I thought he subbed in flawlessly and just further proves we should never see Llebackpass again.

That Dest and Weah partnership on the right was great to watch!

Miles Robinson and Matt Turner are the only MLS players I approve!

Arriola being put in the starting lineup was the most damning evidence that Gregg doesn’t believe the “rotation” nonsense he spews. That or Arriola knows where GGG buried the bodies.

Lesson #8. Home qualifiers are easier than road qualifiers.

I learned that we have found our keeper, fullbacks, midfield and center forward. We just need to get them on the field all together regularly
