Good point👍.Were coming out of a bad drought here and I see people fertilizing crispy dead areas. Your lawn needs to be alive so the fert can help it thrive.

Not being a wise guy here, but these smaller lawns are a heck of a lot easier to handle than my 27, 700 square foot lawn. Between the cost of product and the time it takes to do the work, not sure I will ever get a lawn looking like the ones we see on YouTube. I just spent half a day spraying in sea kelp and humic acid a week after applying summer fert. Followed by deep watering. Sure hope I see something positive.

Have you ever done aerating manually with garden fork? Do you think it's a good alternative when on low budget or could it cause more damage than good?

From wikipedia : "When too little water accompanies the high concentration of salts in fertilizer, the salts will absorb some of the water, leaving very little for the plant. The plant will respond as it would in a drought. The plant will not photosynthesize or cellularly respire, resulting in a fertilizer burn."
I guess that's what happened with your non irrigated lawn

I would think fertilizer on that high sun, dormant and dry land would actually be counter productive because you're basically asking already highly stressed grass to grow faster.

I have an experiment for you man. with that back lot behind your fence. Try the Lawn Tonic on it once a week see what the results are. put into a 20 gallon hose sprayer. 1 can of beer (any beer) 1 can of cola ( can't be diet need the sugar), 1 cup of liquid ammonia, 1 cup of liquid dish soap, 30oz of 20-20-20 liquid lawn fertilizer, 1 cup of mouthwash antiseptic, load that thing up set it to 1 oz and water down that mixture behind your fence 1 time a week for the fist month then 1 time every other week for the next month and 1 time every 3 weeks after that and see what the results are. I am very curious how that lawn tonic will work and that back lot is perfect test bed instead of our own lawn first HAHAHAHAAH!! DO IT BRUH!!!
