LEGO Star Wars 75397 UCS JABBA'S SAIL BARGE Review! (2024)

The LEGO Star Wars UCS Jabba's Sail Barge is incredible! With a beautiful exterior and interior packed with authentic detail and easter eggs! The Minifigures included are another story. A mixed bag of great Minifigs like Max Reebo, Jabba The Hutt, & a Gamorrean Guard along with cheap and lazy versions of C-3PO, Princess Leia, & Bib Fortuna! For $500 the 75397 UCS Jabba's Sail Barge ain't cheap but is it worth it?

They want our wallets to go the extra mile for them but they haven’t gone the extra mile for us with Lego Star Wars in a good while

For the price, it should come with the second desert skiff and more minifigures

Honestly as it is this set is worth no more than $400. For $500 it should have:
-included the entire skiff+sarlacc set
-added a second skiff to complete the scene
-fixed the clear shortcomings with the figures
-added some more of the various aliens from the scene including more goons/skiff guards and Ree-Yees(just bring back the mold).

As it is, I'm going to wait until this set and the sarlacc set are discounted enough for me to get them both for $450 combined.

I am absolutely of the opinion that this should have been treated more like a Master Builder Series set, getting similar numbers of minifigures with the Mos Eisley Cantina. There are so many unique background aliens that could make for really cool minifigures, but unfortunately Lego doesn't seem to want to tap into that well. I hope they make up for that with a MBS Jabba's Palace sometime down the line, because I'll be pretty disappointed until that day.

Reusing the headpiece clearly meant for the FAT version of Bib Fortuna in this $500 set is just criminal.

You got it spot on the no pupils makes the minifigs "soulless" looking it's kinda cartoonie and this is coming from someone that loves the clonewars minifigs

The fact that Lego went so cheap on Bib Fortuna with the recycled head mold from the BoBF version, made everyone forget that they didn't give him a cape.

It's my favorite recent UCS set, because it's a UCS set and a playset in one, without sacrificing anything in either area.
