Important Pre-Installation Note for the OWC Aura Pro X and Aura Pro X2 Solid State Drives

Показать описание
The Aura Pro X and Aura Pro X2 are high-performance NVME drives with a 512-byte block size.

Because of the upgraded block size, using an Aura Pro X or Aura Pro X2 requires you to: a.) Use macOS 10.13 High Sierra (or later) as the installed OS, and b.) make sure the computer you're installing your OS has the correct firmware update BEFORE installing the new drive.

I am guessing you are releasing this video because of people’s complaints about the Aura X2 drives. Good on you all for doing so. This shows how much you care about customers. (:

Hi the big issue I’m having is when I get to recovery mode and open disk utility, I don’t see a view widget to “show all devices” so I can’t format the aura drive. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro that was running Mojave. Please help!

Installed the Aura Pro X2 in my 27" iMac 19, 1 in January 2021.
I cannot install macOS Monterey since this requires a new EFI update again.
Is there a workaround for this?
Since tearing up my Mac again is not really an option.. Thanks.

This doesn’t work. I had big sur on original drive and MacBook Pro still can’t see the ssd. What a load of crap.

Im running the latest OS Big Sur, im confused.. Ive seen some videos that say you need to have Mojave installed in order for it to work properly, seen vids that say you need the latest Sierra. Seen a lot of Youtube vids confusing me. So i figured Id come straight to the source. Dear OWC, can i install this Aura Pro X2 SSD with the latest MacOS Big Sur 11.5.1 installed?

Ok, I currently have a 2t OWC Aura Pro X SSD on my 2013 MacBook Pro running Catalina. I just purchased another to use in my 2015 13" MacBook Pro. I put the drive in the external case to format the drive then install the current Catalina then drop it into my 2015 MacBook Pro. However. I am unable to see the drive no matter what I do. Not sure what the problem might be.

Hi. I have a mac pro 2013 with Big Sur.

How to install MacOs high sierra?

So, if i understand this correctly. you cannot install High sierra when the drive is installed but high sierra has to be installed on the computer first. Then it is said it cant be from a backup... If i had backed up a computer from a time machine does that not count? I have not updated from app store since the time machine recovery. does this matter? been wanting to buy one for a day or two now.
