This is insulting and shows a lack of sensitivity to the victims and their parents. Worrying about the fact that an allegedly trans person committed this crime, and how it might offend other trans individuals. That didn't need to be said. Instead, the families are the victims who remain, and it is to them, whom we should display concern for.
