Welcome to the Second Video in Our Exploration of AFC Bournemouth's New Owner Bill Foley. It is a pleasure to welcome onto the show Steve Linkowski from Successful YouTube Show @UrinatingTree to discuss American Owners in the English Game and what we should expect if Maxim Demin completes the sale of the club to Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill.

In this show we discuss:

🍒 How the Vegas Golden Knights came about and the successes and failures they have had so far in the NHL.
🍒 What would have attracted Bill Foley to choose AFC Bournemouth as his destination over more established football clubs.
🍒 Why and how Bill Foley will be different to other American Owners in the Premier League most notably Stan Kroenke at Arsenal and the Glazer Family at Manchester United.
🍒 Why Americanisation would be bad for English Football.
🍒 A League without Relegation - Why it shouldn't happen and why it does happen in US Sport.
🍒 The Setup for bringing through new players at a Football Club in the UK as opposed to that in the USA.
🍒 Have NFL, NHL and MLB teams ever faced financial ruin like clubs across English Football.
🍒 Steve's confidence of Bill Foley being successful at AFC Bournemouth.
🍒 And lots lots more...

I have been following Bournemouth since 1980 and it has stuck me that if we can have major investment Bournemouth could grow and be a big or alot bigger than we were back in 1980. In fact look at how far we have come since maxim has been our owner and investing. So I am delighted that this is or might be happening in the near future. Bournemouth council I feel have been a stumbling block in our progress so will need to be dealt with like wise structadene and apparently Foley gets what he wants so bring it on!!!!
Kings park is THE best place for the stadium and was there before the houses were built.

One quick correction. Bill Foley fully financed T-Mobile Arena. Cost about 400 million

Very interesting interview. Not sure we heard anything about Bill Foley that is reassuring to the contrary it makes me appreciate Max’s input all the more. No liquid funds worries me, just hope he realises what he’s buying into and what it’s going to cost to fulfil his ambition.

Jacksonville had a General Manager that was hated by all the players of the league.

For any of you amazed at the fee paid to get the Golden Knights into the NHL

Five of the six* main North American professional sports leagues (MLB**, NHL, NFL, NBA and CFL***) are fully closed shop operations where territorial rights are strictly controlled. Encroaching on someone else's turf costs big bucks. In 1976, the NBA merged with and absorbed the remains of a rival league, the American Basketball Association (ABA), taking on four teams. Three of these teams were the Denver Nuggets, the San Antonio Spurs and the Indiana Pacers. These three were in there own markets, so no trouble. But the fourth was the New York Nets...

The Nets had to pay $4.8 Million ($25 million in 2022) directly to the New York Knicks for "invading" the New York Metropolitan Area. As basketball wasn't the juggernaut sport it is today, the team didn't have it, so had to sell thier star player Julius "Dr.J" Erving to the Philadelphia 76s

*Major League Soccer is a single entity, the "team owners" actually own the league itself and their share grants them the right to operate a team.
** MLB is still two equal leagues operating under one entity.
*** Canadian Football League, play a variant of Gridiron football with 12 players per team on the field (as opposed to 11 with American Football) and a 110 yard field (opposed to 100 yards)

The Americans onwers really hate FIFA and UEFA tell them what to do. that is the people that should be worried and it's why UEFA wants to expand the champions league.
