The Stipa-Caproni: A revolutionary 1930s Italian aircraft

Показать описание
The Stipa-Caproni was a groundbreaking experimental aircraft developed in Italy during the 1930s by engineer Luigi Stipa in collaboration with Caproni. Featuring a unique "intubed propeller" design, the aircraft had a hollow, barrel-shaped fuselage that functioned as a ducted fan, significantly improving propeller efficiency and thrust. Though the aircraft itself was not a commercial success, its design principles influenced later jet engine development.
