Today Steven Anderson will teach you greek using the New Testament. Learn Greek if you want to study the bible. During this lesson you will hear about John 1:1 in Greek New Testament. This language is a little different from english but once you memorize the 24 letters aphabet its gonna be easy for you to learn.

I just was learning introduction to biblical Greek in Spanish and the pastor that was teaching about the accents and the commas just confused me. But you nailed it! Thank you! He is a good teacher anyway I just got confused.

Alexander, the great was truly remarkable. But what they didn't teach you in school is that along with his conquests he is famous for something else. When Alexander conquered to people, he gave them captive a choice, either join my army or die. Most picked the former as new recruits one of the things they had to learn his language. They had to know the grammar. The reason for this is great communication between troops and commanders. As he went around conquering the known world at that time, he did two things named many cities, Alexandria, and more important he spread his language that this genius created throughout the known world. It was called KOINE Greek or common Greek. The beauty of this language was that it only had one interpretation. The grammar was so precise that it became the greatest language for communication of thought in his day. By no accident, this language became the language of the New Testament, therefore, based on the grammar, there's only one interpretation. Learn the grammar and you are way ahead of everybody else.

It's interesting how differently people pronounce Greek. I'm not questioning this gentleman's knowledge of the language, but his pronunciation is quite different from how I've heard others read it.

I'm not that much into church, but being a greek and hearing this, I think the correct translation of "λόγος" should be "reason" here. Could be translated as "word" in other cases, but in this case, there is no meaning. I.e. "Δεν υπάρχει λόγος να πας εκεί" (There is no reason for you to go there), "Άυτός ήταν λόγος ανησυχίας" (This was a reason for concern).
So, in the begining was reason and god is reason, not word...
That being said, this is a very educative effort and I prefer your approach of modern greek pronounciation.

There are many translation errors in the KJV. Have you ever considered using the Concordant Literal Version translation instead of the KVJ?
