ULTRAVOX - 'THE PRIZE' (SLIGHT MODIFICATION MIX)

Показать описание
NON SUPPORTER OF THE ULTRAVOX UNOFFICIAL REGIME@
Sadly Chris Cross of Ultravox passed away on March 25 2024. This terrible news hit the Ultravox community hard as it was completely unexpected. Not to mention Midge, Warren, Billy and John Foxx. From all of us at the Astradyne Cafe we send our deepest condolences and respect to the family and friends of Chris.
His death was announced by his wife on April 2 2024.
Moving on...
I am not a professional remixer, DJ or technician. I'm just a fan who does these mixes out of my love and respect of the band and to bring something a bit different to other fans. With this in mind I hope you enjoy my efforts, subscribe to the channel and, most importantly, support the band and its remaining members.
I wasn't planning to release this for a week or so as it's not completely finished. But what the hell. it's dedicated to Chris and the remaining members of Ultravox.
"U-VOX" wasn't a popular album amongst fans upon its release and still splits opinion today. Female backing singers? A brass section? An Irish folk group? An orchestra? It was certainly different to anything the band had previously released. There are, however, some good songs amongst the nine tracks on the album.
"The Prize" is one of the better songs (in my opinion) but sadly it was filled with female vocals and brass stabs which I believe spoilt the song. So here I have completely removed all traces of these, lifted tthe guitar in the mix, added Billy's short but instantly recognisable ARP solo and not faded the song out.
It's not perfect because it's not finished. But I was working on this at the time Chris passed away and I decided to put it put "as is" in tribute to him.
Please feel free to Join us at The Astradyne Cafe on Facebook where everyone is welcome.
Enjoy!
