Got a keyboard for Christmas (2024) and am finally breaking it out to play. THIS is one of the first songs I'm learning to play on it. I'm 57 and this is the 3rd one I've owned. It's not as nice as the one's in my past, but we won't get it all that.
Thanks for the GREAT tutorial, this is one of my fav 80's songs. I've done it at some karaoke's and got compliments on my singing, especially the high notes. Thanks again, keep 'em coming!

8:40 it kind of confuses me that you play a B minor chord (b-d-f#) while playing a-f#-d on the right hand. Wouldn't a D major chord be more appropriate? Or is it a usual technique to not always choose chords which are totally harmonic to the melody?

This is an excellent tutorial. Just a quick heads up to anyone signing up for part 2 onward: it's not a cover of the song. Meaning the next parts of the tutorial are mostly just chords. HDPiano hasn't converted lyrics into melody at all, so you'll have to look elsewhere for that!
