Never did I think when I was a young guy in the 1960's that I would still love the sixties music as much today as I did then. Songs like this will never die, and this one was one of my favorites. In fact, I am still watch all the Star Treks with Kirk, Bones, and Spock to this day. The fifties and sixties were PRICELESS. I miss those time so much!

Jimmy Clanton born September 2, 1938 is celebrating his 84th birthday today, Sepember 2nd, 2022. He is an American singer who became known as the "swamp pop R&B teenage idol". His band recorded a hit song "Just a Dream" which Clanton had written in 1958 for the Ace Records label. It reached number four on the Billboard chart and sold a million copies. Clanton performed on Dick Clark's American Bandstand and toured with popular artists like Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and the Platters. "Venus in Blue Jeans" reached #7 on the Billboard Top-100 chart in October 2nd, 1962. UPDATE: He just celebrated his 86th birthday on September 2nd, 2024
