We asked 15 men on the streets of London what one piece of life-changing advice they would give their younger selves knowing what they know now. Because, of course, we all want to be a better...us.

And the man that coined the phrase, 'new year, new you', probably felt the same way. With that in mind, it's now, well and truly, the new year. No matter how hard life may be, you are perfect, as is. Be a leader, not a follower. Take risks, protect yourself, believe in yourself, rely on yourself to be safe, and take extra care listening to others, especially those who ultimately are doing it for selfish reasons, and not motivational ones.

Dear younger me. A career is important but at least find job in early 20s that pays decent and has a PENSION. I stumbled through 20s tryin to find "the" job that would make me and family happy. 25 years or so working is not that long believe me. Find something and stick with it so when your in mid 50s you can seriously contemplate retiring. Ill be working rest of my life cuz i bounced between jobs when i should hVe stuck to something stable with retirement.

Don't believe your parents that they need you back home making you drop out of Med school. It's not true. They just miss you terribly and its selfish of them to want that. Don't marry that girl named Mercy when you're 23. She'll break your heart. Save every penny you make and stay in shape.

As opposed to that one bearded fellow, I would tell my younger self to not grow that beard and to please keep up with cutting your hair after you leave high school. You are not rejecting society's norms, you are making yourself look awful.
