I'll never forget the day I bought Van Halen's first album. I was 16 and I never heard them before I bought the album. I walked in to the record store and saw the album and I said to myself I bet those guys are really good. When I dropped the needle I almost sh*t my pants. I listened to that album at least 15 times in a row that day. It was one of the best days of my life.

this was the album at the time, Eddies guitar blew me away still does yea was about 16 and we partied our asses off listening to it good times, its funny how certain bands and songs bring you back, life was so good then, no worries at all but just had to maintain on the road, but if the cops pulled you over all they did was destroy all your get highs and beer, great band great times for sure they are worth every penny they made for sure

I was born in '68, Van Halen was released in '78, got into rock when I was 15 and missed the best band in the world - that is the biggest regret of my life - I did listen to 80's bands but none come close to Van Halen, I promised myself I will be there if they play one last time.

I am listening to Van Halen songs at 0.75 speed. At slower pace it is sometimes gravier and you can more easily get the rhythms. Van Halen is more than a simple Heavy rock band and a wider range of rhythms than conventional hard rock bands of that era.
