On today's Star Wars lore video, we look at the Battle of Coruscant, and try to find out how many ships were at the battle based on Star Wars Legends Expanded Universe Content.

One of the key moments of the Clone Wars was the Battle of Coruscant, where both the Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems fielded fleets with...Dozens? Hundreds? Thousands?... of capital ships.

i think the ROTS novelization did it best. the opening line in the prologue is "the skies of coruscant blaze with war" and describes it from ground level as beautiful, with thousands of planetoids connecting together by beautiful webs of light swarmed with dazzling fireflies. then from the inside, as a clone pilot, as terrifying "stomach churning certainty that the whole galaxy is trying to kill you".

it talks about how throughout the war children across the galaxy follow anakin and obi wan like they were professional athletes instead of warriors, and that while their parents are heartbroken that it seems the republic will fall, the children tell them it will be alright, that anakin and obi wan will come in to save the day. the adults dont understand because "they cant see two prismatic bursts reverting to realspace. they cant see two jedi starfighters separating from their hyperdrive rings and streaking for the battle. only two. two is enough. two is enough because the adults are wrong and the children are right. because even though this is the end of the age of heroes, it has saved its best for last."

I like the Star Wars the Clone Wars Show but i Think that they often showed too less ships and troopers and vehicles in the battles

It would be really cool if they made a whole movie about the battle of Coruscant and the kidnapping of the chancellor. But because of how much the prequels are hated this probably won't happen.

It's a shame that since they destroyed the New Republic in Episode 7 we aren't going to see another large fleet battle depicted.

I like the Legends versions better then actual Canon any day.
Also this feels more realistic then the Canon version really.

Five to Ten thousand ships. Now that sounds like an appropriate amount to defend Coruscant and the Deep Core itself.

Better than what we see in the cartoon where they only have three to five ships defending a planet and engaging a similar number of ships.
