10 years ago, I uploaded a video that changed the course of my channel; Top 40 Lost or Banned Episodes of Kids Shows. I stumbled upon the Lost Media Wiki completely by chance. I was amazed by the topic and knew I had to make a video on it. 10 years later and I’m still amazed by the topic and making videos on it 😅 Lost media still remains my most requested topic to make videos on, and I have many more planned. Thank you all for watching and here’s to another decade!

i’m usually a silent viewer but i can’t believe it’s been 10 years?!! i remember watching the original late at night when i was 10 or 11 😭 that may have been the first “video essay” formatted video i ever saw. genuinely one of my favorite channels on this platform to this day!

I think the stupidest part about Midlife Crustacean being banned is that all they had to do was pull it from airing. There was no excuse to remove it from streaming given that parents can simply choose to skip that episode for their kids if it bothers them that badly. Now the only legitimate way to watch it is if you happen to have the old boxset of the series.

It's actually a really good thing that Australia would not allow children to learn the lesson that spiders are harmless. In a general sense, it's true- spiders are helpful and important. You'd usually want to teach kids not to kill them... but not in Australia. They have funnel web spiders, which can straight up END a toddler. You cannot take the risk of teaching kids to treat such threats as harmless.

This is why physical media matters in the term of that SpongeBob episode that's now removed. I grew up watching that episode numerous times and the fact that they removed it makes it seem that streaming sites can just pull any episodes from the past instantly

It's kinda wild how many times the story of "this episode has an explosion and was banned from reruns cuz it aired within a few months of (bombing here)" happens

I worked at a uhaul storage center and there was a guy who would sit in his unit and drink through the day. He showed me an old show he hosted called "Dave's dimension" which aimed to show off the beauty of the northwest USA. I wonder if it still survives out on the internet somewhere.
