Bond 25 Delayed for 007 months - But Is There More To The Delay Than The Obvious?

The 25th James Bond film, "No Time To Die", has been pushed back by seven months. However, there may be more to this delay than meets the eye. Midnight's Edge has heard rumors surrounding delay, and rumblings about how the current situation around the globe may affect other productions going forward including Amazon's "Lord of the Rings" series and the Disney+ Marvel show "Falcon & Winter Soldier".

I imagine they're pumping the breaks on the "woke" aspects of the story to try and avoid crashing into a wall with, as you put, the franchise their fortunes rest upon. Money talks.

You said best pointing out Bond is MGM's pillar, which means if it fails, MGM is going to hurt. I believe the issue is internal problems/production.
I saw trailer when it was released and I saw the trailer again when I saw 1917. The first trailer made people cringe because of the diversity, virtue signalling, and they made it seem Bond was just an old white dude and here comes the new Bond, a strong black woman. Since that uproar Mrs. Brocoli publicly said there will be no female Bond. The 2nd trailer I saw had all the scenes with the black actress removed, except for her intro scene with Bond. I believe MGM has watched all the get woke, go broke films and they don't want to follow suit, I don't think they can afford to.

Well I think MGM sees their original premise and marketing for the new Bond film did not sit well with the Bond fandom. They don’t want a flop as a failure for a Bond is much more significant than anything else MGM owns.

I'm not gonna say they're being "nefarious." Just that the virus gives them plausible deniability to kick it off to November. Also, with the virus affecting China worst of all (according to current reports, anyway), this would also deny them a possible revenue stream. Hence, the virus gave them impetus to schedule reshoots and kick that can down the road.

I personally believe this delay would have happened anyway, as I'm sure the film is testing horribly. Anyone remember when Lynch allegedly had gotten the 007 designation? Yeah. This film is probably a hot mess. COVID-19 is the best thing that could have happened to it.

By November, nobody will even remember the bad press going into it.

... That last part IS kinda nefarious, come to think of it...
