This is one of my all time favourite episodes, but I didn’t realise when I was younger that the 3rd wish was technically 2 wishes and the 4th wish didn’t include a stop to Judith’s obsession.

Clarissa is the best part of this episode. I think I prefer the episode's take on her. In the book, Clarissa was some kind of sorceress, but here, she's a magical bird that can take on human form, which I think is more interesting.

This episode of goosebumps reminds me of the movie 16 wishes where the girl had birthday wishes but made one wish she regretted and ask the wish lady to take the wish back

Clarissa actually never was evil. She's kind and one of the few who does not want to harm anyone at all. All she want is to spread happiness, and would become just unhappy when her magic does not produce the full effect. And again, she does absolutely nothing to hurt anyone. In my opinion, the true main villain here is Judith. Not only is she a bully to Samantha, she is also selfish to herself. The pendant could also be seen as the villain, since the wishes that are granted are.. Quite turbulent. Judith got what she deserved. That's what I call karma.
Also, to anyone who tries to blame all the fault to Sam, just know that you are as selfish as Judith. Sam is NOT like in the book here, and you can tell she's just an innocent girl who gets bullied. You can't really blame a victim of bullying. That'll only make YOU at fault. Meanwhile yes, I understand where the hate comes from. In the book, Sam made a big mistake to have Judith meet Clarissa instead of her, which resulted in her wishing Sam to become a bird and fly away. But again, in the episode, it's completety different and Sam isn't like how she is in the book, plus they changed the ending.

I'm glad they changed the ending. In the book (SPOILER ALERT) After Sam makes her final wish Judith makes a secret wish and then tells Sam to "fly off". Sam, not realizing that she's been turned into a bird, eats a worm and flies away, unaware that anything is wrong. I'm happy they gave Sam the win. Poor girl could never seem to catch a break in the book.

In the book Sam has a brother named Ron. At the end, she turns into a bird, since Judith indicates that was her wish.
