Did I miss it or did she fail to mention that Andrew Johnson served in the senate again after he was president? He is the only former presient to server in the senate after being president.

I’ve always been more interested into the presidents who were thrown into the role and no elected to it. We all know you’re voting for vp knowing they COULD be president but we all know it doesn’t go down that way. It’s all about the main candidate. Kamala Harris got less than 1% and Biden got the win.
Presidents Tyler, Fillmore, Johnson, Arthur, Roosevelt, Truman, Johnson interest me the most

Andrew Johnson was truly a self made man. The epitome of the "Horatio Alger " story.

Honestly as much as history paints him as a radical he was moderate through his whole career voting with whigs and democrats which is why neither liked him much in the higher ups at least

Also I'm not saying he was a good president he was a bad president but was a good politician prior to such he never had a strong opinion on slavery having a similar one to Lincoln unsure if it would be constitutional to abolish it

He much rather focused on goverment power, his home stead acts, education ( he actually had the few slaves he had well payment and education ), sought to preserve Jackson's home

Not saying he's a good president again just saying he was a good politician

I watched this podcast wanting to get to know Andrew Jackson, president Donald Trumps hero. Mit mistake. I liked the podcast a lot but could not bear to watch the visuals, I averted my eyes the whole time. Good info on a president hitherto unknown to me, a German across the ocean.
