It's funny because corvettes are not built for these kind of tracks at all. It's pretty easy to break the rear wheels away with just a little bit of throttle, so I'm impressed that the ZR1 driver stayed composed that well.

He "understeered" ie: he turned his wheels to far left while also hitting the brakes hard, causing both front tires to skid which results in the car continuing to go straight rather than go left. This was simply an unskilled driver who was too eager to push his limits all in one go, instead of gradually finding the vehicles limit with multiple races in increasing intensity. Thus cost him his car, which he never had

what’s crazy is this happened while we were talking in the pits behind the track and none of us realized this happened until they were getting the car off track. i have pics of the side with the airbags blown

The Nissan was holding its own. The Vette had the preferred line, wouldve been a close finish I think if the Nissan didn't overdrive going into 3.

I love spectator racing, but it's really hard to see via these "S" videos which seem better suited for commentary vs something visual. jmo. Love the channel though.
