In Far Cry 5, you are a sheriff's deputy working under sheriff Whitehorse. You, two other deputies, a federal Marshal and the democratically elected head of the law enforcement agency have your helicopter shot down when you are trying to take Joseph seed in the US custody, and the only reason you never get help from the outside is because apparently one dispatcher said that everything was okay and nobody questioned where their Sheriff had been and the federal government never went looking for their US Marshal

The far cry 5 ending isn't just walking away, the cops leave to let the national guard deal with Joseph which is great because I can only imagine what some random cultists will do against the national guard

I found out (accidentally while trying to sail to a big ol' boat) that in FC6 you can get the secret ending at literally any time if you sail off the map. Once you reload after the ending Dani will comment on how relaxed she/he suddenly feels.
