I personally admire Washington from his early days as a British general up to the 1780s. He fought for years over taxes and a big government messing with the people, but when he came in office he did things such as ramping up federal power, raising taxes everywhere, and dividing the nation between federalists and D-Republicans

Summary for those who have to watch this for history class but dont want to:
When the US made the switch from the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution, the country was in debt. So Alexander Hamilton placed a tax on whiskey to help pay off the combined debts of all states. American people didnt like this, so people refused to pay it, and people protested. So President Washington led troops to Pennsylvania (where major protests were happening), and some men were hung. and this proved that under the Constitution, the government had the power to enforce the law.

Washington and his troops got as far as Bedford, PA and word got out to the rebels who quickly disbanded.

If anyone has a real question... please ask. I live on a farm in Washington County, PA that was involved in the Whiskey Rebellion. This is a good brief video, there's a LOT more to it. But no one was hanged, some were tarred and feathered, made to walk nude in the forest... hung, nope.
