My buddy bought the same bike in 68. They were a beautiful sounding machine but like all Brits(I had a Triumph) at the time they had a little bit of vibration. He was recently telling his wife that she couldn't of enjoyed that too much being his girlfriend at the time. She gave him a funny look and told him that was the best part of it. We had a good laugh.

Micheal Elphick in Boon had a 66/67: it wasn't this one! There's a great movie entitled "IF' by Lindsay Anderson with Malcolm Macdowell in his debut role riding a 68 Lightning. I'm on my third now ( almost completed resto) and I love them.

ahh...bring back such memories ..what a BAD ASS bike...old timers use to refer to them as baby Harley's back in the whaaaAAAA..!..and some use to refer to them as rolling MELONS.. hoping to get one b4 l die.
