My suffering brought me to study psychology and philosophy. Psychology brought me to Carl Jung. Jung brought me to Jordan Peterson. Jordan brought me to you, Jonathan. And the last video you and Jordan did brought me to God and Christ. Hopefully, I will find a community near me where I can learn and get support from, but for now, I'm just studying, praying, and listening to you and JP. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

"Reality consists of sacrifice". This is an awesome and profound statement. I am a classical tabla player (Indian classical drumming) which is an art form generally passed down orally from teacher to student over the last two or three hundred years. There are things written down, but in general the interaction between student and teacher is a major part of the tradition and is how things are passed down. One of the things I've always noticed in our tradition is that the best tabla players never or rarely take credit for what they do, almost always they attribute it to their teacher or teachers and then ultimately to the ancestors or "buzurg" in other words the tabla maestros of old times. Humility is a cornerstone of the tradition. At the same time, any tabla player who has reached a decent level of skill is expected to also in his turn become a teacher and pass the tradition down to other students, which is something I've started doing recently. You are expected to give your all to your students, and pass on the tradition as best you can as it was handed down to you. It would be considered sinful and blasphemous to attribute anything to "yourself" in other words to "self-name" or sing your own praises. Everything is attributed to either God or to the old maestros who have come before us. The statement about reality being fundamentally all about "sacrifice" really resonated with me.

Bravi Jonathan Pageau. This is your best in quality and substance yet. I recently joined an orthodox church and decided to give my life to Christ in part because of you and your teachings. Thank you for all that you do.

I’ve been an Episcopal (Anglican) priest for fifteen years. Your lecture is more helpful than anything I learned in seminary or heard anywhere in the institution I gave myself to.

Reading Revelation I get the sense that on some level it's encapsulating all of history and is a brief summary of Mankind's Day.

In the film "The Matrix Reloaded, " the main character, Neo, manages to find The Architect, the entity who created the Matrix simulation. The Architect explains that the Matrix relies on an unstable equation, which causes an Anomaly to emerge, to balance the equation -- which triggers an apocalyptic reset. Neo is the Anomaly of the current cycle. All this struck me as being so similar to what you described in the first 10 minutes here that I felt compelled to share these comments.

I've recently read "The Language of Creation". As soon as I understood that Adam is the symbol of the Creator within creation, and thus his role is to "raise matter" and "lower meaning", the idea of an AI started to haunt me. To create such a thing somehow seems both the culmination and the greatest betrayal of our call. How can this be?

"The mystery of the things which are left over is the way in which principalities are attacked."

This reminds me of the thought I've long held about Naglfar, the ship that Loki and his armies sail to attack the gods, initiating Ragnarok. Naglfar is made out of boot trimmings and the uncut fingernails of dead men. While on the surface these seem like random, if offputting, references, both of these things are the neglected leftovers we tend to completely forget. But that doesn't mean they stop existing. And in the end, all of the various individually insignificant forgotten, leftover things coelesce into the vehicle that eventually brings the very collapse of order in the heavens. These things may be forgotten now, but they don't just go away. And they've been waiting all this time for their time to strike out in revenge.

Near the end of the first LOTR movies, in the iconic scene between the wizard Gandalf and that giant fiery monster on the bridge, Gandalf makes a stand and causes the bridge to collapse sending the monster falling down into the dark abyss. When I first watched that moment, I felt relief that Gandalf had finally defeated the great demon and also managed to save himself by barely clinging to one end of the collapsed bridge, but then out of the darkness below, the long fiery tail of the monster whipped up and grabbed the wizard's ankle pulling them both down into Hell. I wonder if Tolkien was consciously referencing Revelation when he wrote that scene?
