Thank you. I have several 1964 Kennedy's. One looks like a proof but it doesn't have all of the luster, it looks a little flat, but still sparkles. Had them since 1972, from a doctor who used to give them out years before for Christmas gifts to the nurses that worked in a local hospital.

So in essence, the US mint made the special coins and gave them to US government officials, who were later able to sell them for $100, 000 or more, while the rest of us get issued plain old not very valuable coins? Seems like there’s something wrong with that.

I still have 1964 and 1964-D BU Kennedy rolls from when my dad first got me into collecting coins in 1964. I’ve had them fifty eight years.

I’m not sure after watching what the identifying feature would be for a $150k quality.

When I was a kid I used at least 20 of those coins to buy soda and candy.😂😂😂

I have around a hundred or more of those. I used to collect them. My father had a bar. He gave all the ones he took in to me. You wouldn't believe the coins I have. 1000 lbs or more of silver from the 40s 50s and 60s

you did not explain why one of those coins would be worth so much, all i heard you say that it was a special strike..

I have a complete1964 set from Kennedy half dollar down to a penny. Uncirculated and untouched new in the display box since 1964. Are you saying this might be worth over $100K? Wow.

😱 I had one of these! I was a live-in nanny for a friend from high school, helping her raise her two kids. Her baby-daddy stole it from my stuff after framing me for something to get me evicted. Worst part is, he probably used it, as 50 cents, to buy cigarettes.

most all 64s are in great condition because they were either never in circulation or in circulation for only a very short time. so many people hoarded them upon their release so theyre good to stack for weight

I just won twenty 1964, Kennedy half dollars at an auction. I got a microscope so I'll be examining those super close. I think two of those are super sparkly. They'll be arriving next week.

Thanks for making it clear about the clad it's weird though some of them I can barely see a line and then some of them are prominent on the same year

I love getting the good 90%. The Franklins and Kennedys are always better than the walking half dollars. I always place my food morgans and peace dollars in holders

Several years ago I went to the same Coin Store all of the time. Sometimes I bought junk silver half dollars. I have several 64 Kennedy halves. I paid $7.50 at first. Then later they cost me $8. I am certainly glad I brought them. Many of them are Franklin Halves and a few of them are Walking Liberty Halves.

Did You forget to explain the identifying feature of the SP minted variety?

When I became a soccer referee, I went to the bank, handed them a dollar bill and asked for two half dollars so I could use them for coin tosses. One of them was a '64; easily distinguishable from the later coins by color.
I don't know what happened to that other half dollar. I might have just given it to another referee, but I still have the '64. I feel so affluent.
