Grandma Lecha was already bedridden for 5 years. Demented. Struck by Alzheimer's...
On the day of recording the video, she was able to sit up by herself and to actively participate in the clip. She cried and laughed as if she was 100% awake and present. That day for the last time she brought moments of joy to her daughter and granddaughter.
I had the honor of singing to her and I was blessed to feel her gratitude.
Shortly after she said goodbye to all of us - forever.

This video is dedicated to all Cape Verdean Women and to all mothers and daughters all over the world.

Avó Lecha já estava há mais de 5 anos acamada , demente e sofria de Alzheimer. No dia da gravação, ela conseguiu sentar-se sozinha; participou do video clipe chorando como se estivesse 100% presente. Trouxe pela última vez momentos de alegria para a sua filha e para a sua neta. Eu tive a honra de cantar e a honra de sentir sua gratidão. Depois daquele dia ela se despediu de todos nós para sempre.

Eu dedico este vídeo ás mulheres cabo-verdianas e a todas as mães e filhas pelo mundo afora.

É UMA CANÇÃO DE AMOR DE MIM PARA ELAS.
