I adore people who adopt old animals so they will not die alone in a cage

That’s so cute. I want to adopt all the cats in the world so I can be sure they’re never lonely.

My friend adopted a dog who needed a leg amputated due to getting hit by a car (before the adoption) Two years later I see this dog at the shelter I'm volunteering at who was born with a deformed leg, told my friend about him and she adopted him too 😊 The two dogs are perfect together and absolutely love each other

Schools don’t teach kids to be creative and clever, they teach them how to become normal, boring, everyday middle class (at best) individuals like the teachers are themselves.

The whole system needs an update.

I adopted a 16 year old cat, Cole, with the same logic, I’m a mostly bedridden/housebound disabled woman and wanted company, an older cat suited me fine and I had a LOT of free time to give my attention to an elderly cats needs. He lived a year and a half before dying of old age, he was very sweet, loved sleeping on my chest with his head in the crook of my neck, had his own pillow on my bed (but would often sleep on my head), had a window seat with cushions, had a couple of trays to go toilet around the house as he sometimes needed to go with no notice, he’d sit at the bathroom door when I’d use the toilet so he could guard me, he was so, so loving.

I’d always recommend adopting older animals, they just need some love, Cole was extremely loving and the Cat Protection League (Moray) loved hearing updates like
“He’s doing wonderful, he likes chasing toys around the house at 3am”
“He likes climbing to the kitchen counter and I’ve made steps so he doesn’t hurt his back end” (arthritis)
“He intentionally walks on the old metal ammunition box at the end of my bed because it makes a clunking noise to get my attention, and uses it as a stepping stone to come lie on my chest”
When he was with them he mostly slept in his bed, but once adopted he’d be running around the house faster than I could walk!

I greatly miss Cole, but I feel very honoured to have had the chance to adopt him!

Jenifer, if you’re looking at this, god bless you, what a gorgeous act of kindness to that poor man who could have lost his dog without you. God bless this woman’s soul 🙏

When I'm older, I want to adopt pets that are very old; so they don't have to spend their final moments In a cage.

The last one makes me bittersweet. The best cat I ever owned was 15 when I adopted him. I only had 5 years with him and they were the best 5 years of my life. It's been 6 years since then and I still miss his kisses.
