Thanks for joining me.
I’m a hat salesman from NYC, working at JJ hat Center since 1994,
and nine years before that at another shop..

I’m trying to get everything I know about hats out there to you guys,
so that it’ll help out some people and hopefully make their hat purchases go a little smoother.

I’m happy to answer hat related questions or guitar related questions,
this is HATS AND GUITARS!

Thanks for joining me on this journey,
being a youtuber or the “hat guy” is a real pleasure when the viewers are so kind and amazing, (like you)
I’ve got a lot to say,I tend to go on tangents, and talk about many subjects at once..

I might stumble on a word here and there,
but I rarely edit anything out, so if u see me take a gulp of water, or walk off camera,
I’ve chosen to leave that stuff in, to keep it real, unfiltered and interesting..

So on that note..
💚I appreciate your patience and viewership,
and enjoy the video!..

Sincerely,
Kevin

Great refresher video with the upcoming fall hat season Kevin. My hat care practices are A+ because of your expertise that you share with us. 👍🎩

Loud and clear! Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Can you do a short video about wind cords and chin straps for western hats? How they work and how they attach and where to get them

I don't take any care with my JJ hat's. The quality is so high, you can grab/pinch them, toss them on the couch, etc. Now, if I wanted a hat to last 5 years+, I'd be more cautious. But I get 4-5 new hats a year, so I donate my old ones, which still look amazing.

I store most of my felt hats in a JJ hat box. The hat that I am wearing that day or the next day I have a wall mounted hat rack. I also store my news boys on these wall mounted hat racks. I also have dust covers I use for the news boys.

Yeah my wool felt is starting to wanna change shape a little. Its trying to be a rebel and do what it pleases. Very helpful video. My other felt which is mainly buffalo is starting to show minor signs of that but its mainly just gotten a lot more soft. Basically what Indiana Jones hat would have done if it really went through mountains jungles horses German tiger tanks etc lol

Hi Kevin. I'm curious about where to put my fedora when in a restaurant. I'm new to wearing hats other than ball caps which I'm tired of and enjoying the more dressy styles and just know you can help me. Thanks brother. 🎵🎸🎵

You think that green hat has same brim size as S.E Stratoliner? You like the brims up. I'm trying to get use to wearing mine up. During day I need it day because sun kills my eyes. Sensitive to light because of arthritis. And waiting for jj to get sweat bands in. Need a few. For different hats. I also get hot easy.

Question - I have my hats on the wall as well…..cos let’s face it they look cool on display…..would you recommend moth repellents hanging next to them or something so they don’t get to the BTW who else was focused on the theme music in the background haha

Question to Kevin: I only have a white Hat Bush (horse bristle) can I use that on my Grey Fedora hats? Or should I use a Black Hair Brush for my Grey hats?

Any thoughts on how to minimize sun fade in felt hats??

The shop told me they didn’t order the Borsalino Antonio. If that’s correct: what hat is even close? I really hope that’s not correct info.

Hey Kevin. My Ken got hit with a little rain and now the brim is wavy gravy. I recall you saying one time that light brims like the Spanish ones are difficult to steam, but I really want to flatten it again, fix the flange at the back, and put the snap back in it at the front. Any advice?

Hey Kev, I've got a question for you. I recently got an ultralight stratoliner. The brim is super flimsy. The shape changes real easily. I don't care about being able to crush it for transport. Would spraying hairspray on the brim help? I know previously you've said your don't recommend steaming stratoliners. I just want the brim to keep it's shape a little better. Thanks in advance!

KEV. I need your help man! . I just got my walnut stratoliner in and it came with this like streak on the side felt. You can barely see it and I feel and looks like I could clean it off some how .

What could I do.? I tried a wet rag and it didn't quite do the job
