This is a welcome change on the chev. I replaced the cam belt on my son's 1.4 corsa utility and to get the belt tension correct, it has to be done with the water pump.

Brilliant Video. You have helped me to save thousands. Please can you do a video on how to replace the fan belt on the Chevrolet utility 1.4 Petrol. It's an absolute nightmare. My one has an Aircon unit.

Easiest way to line up correct replacement of belt to crank and camshaft is to spray some white paint onto toothed pulleys and adjacent plates etc before dismantling. Then put your own marks with permanent marker onto the pulley and cover plate. Check that they match exactly. Remove and replace belt lining up on your marks. No hunting for factory marks punch marks, pins etc. I have done this on many many cars without fail...

Hey Gary, thank for the video. I just like to ask what might happen if the timing tensioner break during driving but timing belt is still okay. What is the chances that it might bend the valves? It is chev aveo 1.5

I have a chevy utility 1.4 the vechile started to have problems with the tensioner pulley it started to fail and the car were not pulling anymore like it used to after replaced and service the car can still not pull engine gets warm quickly and when accelerating no power seems like car wants to die any advise on what must be checked out please

Do you have to remove the other wheels in order to access the cover that houses the timing belt?
I'm trying remove the cover but there's a stubborn wheel (the crankshaft ring like wheel) doesn't want to come off, please assist

The "pointer of the tensioner" (or something like that) was not explained in the video. I could not figure out what you're showing in the video when you twice showed the "pointer of the tensioner". Also how do I turn the engine?
