Maleviziotis or Kastrinos Pidihtos is a swift dance which is completed in sixteen steps, (eight forwards and eight backwards). The dancers make a circle holding their hands. The name of the dance comes from Malevizi in the prefecture of Heraklion (kastro) where it was first danced. In the city of Chania this dance is called Kastrini Sousta. From Malevizi this dance went in other areas around 1920. This recording comes from Instrumental folk music from Greece. It is a nice CD of field recording made by Wolfe Dietrich.

Please have a look, it worths : )
