This is how I make the roof on big builds, just mirrored in. After building for hours, I noticed that it's best to only make the outer walls of your build and build all the way up to the roof. At first I kept filling in every square with vertical and horizontal logs, but when it came time to clear them out to open up the floors random vertical supports couldn't get removed even when there are supports close by.

Something's buggy with building. but I guess it comes with early access.

You can directly place the small diagonal supports without having to raise what will be the horizontal log first; just place it like you would if the horizontal log was already lifted, by looking at the corner and then clicking once you see the curved arrow thing.

I’m glad this video is JUST about the build. I see videos all the time where the thumbnail and title say they’re building something, but then you realize it’s a 40 minute episode of a playthrough that possibly at some point has some building… like I clicked it for the building, that was in the title. Not to watch you waffle around the game for half an hour first, and then only get 1/4 of the build started 😂 so thanks lol

Can confirm they still jump on a tree even if you cut down all other trees. However if you don't wall them in they just jump off and won't attack anything.

On Hard mode (maybe other difficulties as well), muddies can jump pretty darn high so if you're standing on the platform they can hit the platform, from the ground, while trying to hit you and break it

That was awesome TotalXclipse! Now that is a treehouse! Very cool that it can be done. I like that multiple floors can be used.

Did the same broken trick. I used 1/4 bars vertically to expand in the width as much as possible without going up so much.

I did this to create a hovering beam system that can illuminate the first 30 m on the outside of the base (in front of my spike wall).
Need to see those mutants coming instead of hearing traps going off and something colliding with the spike wall in the middle of the night.

You should try making a cliff side base. It's vary safe. The only problem is Logistics and water.

Yeah, my biggest issue is the building is so tedious and restricted at the same time. Why can't I use rock cliffs to snap logs to? Why can't I build stairs against any existing wall? Many, many issues with the building.

Also, logs are the best and cheapest way to kill all of the monsters in the game. You just pick up logs and chuck them at mutants, canibal die with 2 hits. Fill your base with logs and when canibals, mutants show up just throw logs at enemies, you can kill ged guy with 3 or 4 logs and even the worm centepinde mutant easy.
