With that last sentence, Tyson says more about himself than he says about Galileo.
Good thing not everybody thinks like him, otherwise, we would still be living like in the dark ages

Unlike Galileo's model, Kepler actually made much more accurate predictions than the older earth centered model. And Kepler had deeper insights. Kepler's 3 laws paved the way for Newton's Principia.

But who gets the press? The guy that flipped off the pope. This story better jive with the popular narrative.

Tyson's "We should kowtow to tyrants" opinion is laughable. If anything Galileo should've written an even more scathing book about the ignorant religious dictators.
