My husband read the Book of Mormon as a rabid anti to prove it wrong. Had a very special experience and ended up getting baptized a few weeks later.
God has an amazing cosmic timetable.
I’ve learned that all the slander, lies, deceiving and bearing false witness against their neighbors is known by God, and He does His Mighty works in spite of their efforts. 😉❤️☀️

All the evidences are amazing. But it boils down to you need to READ the Book of Mormon with an open mind, then PRAY to know it is true. The Spirit witnesses truth. If you have your mind made up already, believing it is false, it won’t do any good to read and pray about it. Millions have read and prayed and know it is true. It also supports and clarifies certain passages of the Bible.

Plates being seen proves absolutely NOTHING because no one is arguing that plates were not involved. The issue is whether these plates were what Joseph Smith said they were. That's the issue. We don't know because they're gone. They can't be examined.

Here’s an interesting excerpt from the memoir of Lucy Mack Smith referring to a period of time long before Joseph Smith claimed to have received the plates:

"During our evening conversations, Joseph would occasionally give us some of the most amusing recitals that could be imagined. He would describe the ancient inhabitants of this continent, their dress, mode of traveling, and the animals upon which they rode; their cities, their buildings, with every particular; their mode of warfare; and also their religious worship. This he would do with as much ease, seemingly, as if he had spent his whole life among them."

He obviously had a natural interest in story telling about stuff that later found its way into the Book of Mormon. Coincidence?

I am reading the LDS literature and found in the Book of Jacob where polygamy is called sin with the example of David and Solomon stated. Then in the Doctrines and Covenants 132, JS had a special revelation to his wife to stay and not leave him. Soon after, he authorizes polygamy. This all started when he got caught in the barn with the milk maid.
Convenient revelation is a sign of a false prophet. Mhmd and JS both did it.

I’m an atheist, but there’s a scholar named Daniel McClellan that’s a Mormon I believe. He does not make excuses about slavery in the Bible.

Im really in no position to critique, but more people would probably click on the short if the words “Book of Mormon” appeared in the title, but unfortunately the title is too long so it’s cut out. Great point though as it relates to the content of the short!
