I've always wished that I could play the cello because of the Elgar Cello Concerto but now thanks to a bajillion takes and a worn out G-string, I am able to! On violin!

*Disclaimer* My apologies to the cellist out there that take offense, I only decided to try to play it because I love it so much, this was the best cover I could come up with on the violin. (I know the notes are not exact as what was written but it was what the violin could do)

Even you adjusted the tuning which disrupted your playing, you made me smile because of the effort you had exerted to play that very beautiful composition on an instrument tuned an octave above to what is written. You have made it also good. :D

my cellist friend showed me how to play it and then i remembered watching this and did the tuning thing and it works lol pretty fun

I suggest you get a 5 String Violin w/ a Low C String.

It's amazing how you re-tuned so quickly! I've also wanted to play cello purely to play Elgar's Concerto, but violin will suffice!

Did you transpose it to b minor so that the string relationships are the same?

It works better on a 5 String Violin because it has a Low C String.
