I adore humans who came to this world with a determination to be angels throughout their lives without a thorough plan.

" If I could give the kids that I teach one message, that would be don't buy a ticket to see whales and dolphins in captivity."
Well said.

6:03 that attack on the seal was incredible. The pod needed to first understand the physics involved, come up with the idea in situ, communicate the idea so that everyone is on the same page, and finally coordinate flawlessly to pull that off. That alone is a demonstration of intelligence comparable to our own.

It's no wonder they attack in captivity. Theyre going mad. They are an extremely intelligent, highly social, family-oriented animal built for swimming vast distances in the open ocean and theyre being made to live out their existence in what is essentially the equivalent of a bath tub. Any intelligent being forced to live out its life in a box is going to eventually lose their mind.

Ive been to Sea World once, and despite the scenic landscapes and designs, the music, the lights and the hype, it was the most depressing thing Id ever seen. Being an artist, I stayed to watch and sketch the orcas and dolphins between their "shows", and what I saw was a glimpse of the reality of their life. They were so lethargic and lifeless... dead inside. Many seemed to have the equivalent of a nervous tick. Bumping the walls over and over, swimming slowly in circles, or just floating idle with their nose to the wall. During the "shows" they were robotic... just sort of 'going through the motions'. Truly heartbreaking and I havent been back since.

Gosh, I cried in the last few minutes, I'm so awed by how passionate this lady is, and I'm so grateful to have people like her in the world, teaching everyone to help animals. Very inspiring film.

I absolutely adore Ingrid. I never get tired of watching documentaries on whales, sharks, otters, sea lions, etc... Especially when Ingrid is in it.

14:52 "You know, as a scientist you have to say that the animals don't recognize you."
Immediately her dog appears, as if saying: "I do recognize you."

I've paused it multiple times on the close-ups where you can clearly see into their eye, and it physically sends chills down my spine. There is so much soul and emotion behind those eyes. Majestic indeed. They must be protected.

So amazing how at 11:56 you can see that the other orcas could’ve easily swam away and abandoned the one who was tangled. They weren’t tangled, they were free to leave and go hunt or something. But they stayed with their pod member to provide comfort and support. It shows how important family bonds are to cetaceans. Also it’s so cute to hear the kids with the Kiwi accents

I absolutely love her work to rescue orcas . We need more people like her. Absolutely in awe with orcas . Can’t emphasize enough people need not go to places where they are in captivity.

It legit brings a tear to my I knowing how sentient, self aware and intelligent orcas are, with the knowledge of them being held captive ...
