Replacing a Kerosene Heater Wick

Показать описание
If you have a typical kerosene heater, you'll need to change the wick every few years or it will start making a lot of black soot after the wick burns down too much. The wick costs about $10 and it takes 30 minutes to change. Andrea does it all while John tells her what to do!

You forgot to mention that u have to fill the Kerosene heater with 1K heater fuel n let the wick in the bottom soak for 60 minutes (1hour) before lighting. Set wick at proper height to prevent smoking. Overall great install Video, Salute!!🎉🎉

Thank you! My husband somehow disassembled one of our heaters and couldn’t get it figured out. It’s been sitting in pieces in our garage for a year. Think I’ll try my luck at changing the wick and putting it back together for him.

I had to install mine with the wick up. Installing it down, I was unable to raise it after putting back together. Interesting you didn't have this issue.

'inco sheets' are good for containing any unwanted kerosine seepage or spillage :)

Can you even imagine the engineering brain thinking that came up with this contraption?

I followed all instructions (several times) but each time I could NOT get the damned wick knob to bring the wick up!! Tried 6 times. Tremendously frustrated

You didn't make her clean the chimney? I recently bought a used one and spent hours cleaning the spoot. Definitely worth it and definitely a chore to stay on top of. Do you recommend any cleaning agent for this?
