RC Meter UT601 The UT601 meter is a mobile device designed to measure the parameters of the most popular electronic components -- resistors and capacitors. It can measure resistance of up to 2,000 MOhm and capacitance of up to 20 microfarads. The device can also be used to check circuits for continuity, test diodes and measure the amplification factor in transistors. The measurement range is selected manually by rotating the multi-position round switch. If measurements are conducted directly on the board, you need to make sure that it is not live, and that all the capacitors are discharged. If you use the device to measure small capacitance values, don't forget to set it to 0 using the SET TO ZERO switch. Let's measure capacitance as an example. First we select the measurement range close to the value indicated by the capacitor's manufacturer. The capacitance of the tested capacitor, according to the manufacturer, is 10 microfarads, that's why let's set the measurement range on the device to 20 microfarads. We can place the capacitor directly into the slot designed for it, or use the test leads from the supply kit. The result of our measurement is displayed on the big LCD screen. The capacitance constitutes 10.2 microfarads, which basically confirms the value claimed by the manufacturer. Resistance is measured in the same way, but used are the different test connectors.
