Justin Trudeau announces resignation: 'I'm a fighter'

Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, announced his resignation at a news conference at his temporary residence, Rideau Cottage, in Ottawa.

Trudeau lost support within his own party after a snowballing leadership crisis. In his speech, he said a new prime minister and leader of the Liberals will carry the values and ideas of the party in the next elections.
