For all of you who say this is meaningless, enter software developers. This would be amazing for coders because vertical screen is very nice for coding. You see more code at the same time which gives you more context while coding.

On the same vein, it would be very nice for people who reads other types of vertical text like documents or websites (most of which don’t auto-adjust for horizontal space and maybe rightfully so as it is hard to read long horizontal lines).

The rule of cool is what is at play here.
If it's cool, go for it. Even if it doesn't make sense or serve a serious purpose.

This is the best implementation of flexible screen I've seen so far - no sharp creases, display is protected when folded as well. Extra screen is super useful for video editing, Excel, word, browsing and coding!

Id love to use it myself, but imagine if you use it so much in the rolled mode that when you do unroll it, the bottom half is brighter 😭😭

What i don't understand is why not change the laptop format and make a 21:9 display when is rolled, that extends to something like 10:16 when is rolled. this is a weird choice. it gives you more screen, but doesn't seem very useful.

Whenever I saw rollable screen, I miss LG.
We could have LG Rollable phone way back at 2021. It's already been MADE (and judging from a reviewing vid, quite nicely made). Sadly LG shutdown their mobile division as it's not profitable.
(And if I rmb correctly they are also the first/one of the pinoeers that implement curve screen on phones)

You know I don’t think this is particularly useful in a lot of use cases, but I think it might be really cool for people who need to consume a lot of vertical video. Maybe like a content moderator at one of the large social media sites or something like that.
